The Bathroom Accessories Checklist: What to Install, and Where

Bathroom accessories are usually the last thing bought in a renovation, often in a hurry once the tiles are done. Planning them earlier gets you a matching set and lets your plumber or tiler leave the right spaces. Here is a simple checklist, zone by zone.

At the basin

Towel ring beside the basin for a hand towel.
Soap dispenser or soap dish. A wall-mounted dispenser keeps the counter clear; a dish suits bar soap.
Tumbler holder for a rinse glass and toothbrushes.
Shelf above or beside the mirror for skincare and grooming. Aurelio shelves come in 300mm and 400mm widths.

In the shower

Corner shelf for shampoo and body wash, in a 9-inch or 12-inch size, with a tempered-glass top.
Robe hook or a multi-hook rail just outside the wet area for robes and loofahs. Hook rails come in 5, 6 and 8-pin lengths.
Multi hook with shelf if you want hooks and a shelf in one piece.

Around the WC

Paper holder with lid, which keeps the roll dry from splashes and humidity.
Mobile paper holder, with a flat shelf above the roll for a phone or glasses.

For towels

Towel rail near the shower for everyday bath towels. A double rail lets towels hang flatter and dry faster.
Towel rack for bath sheets and spare towels, mounted higher on the wall.

Typical fixing heights

These are common starting points measured from the finished floor. Adjust them to the height of the people using the bathroom and to your tile layout, so screws land in tiles rather than across joints where possible.

Paper holder: about 60–70cm, within easy reach of the WC.
Towel ring: about 50cm above the basin counter.
Towel rail: about 110–120cm.
Shower shelf: about 120–140cm, around chest height.
Robe hook: about 170–180cm.

Veneto or Milan?

Aurelio bathroom accessories come in two main collections:

Veneto has straight, minimal geometry and low-projection pieces that sit close to the wall. It suits modern bathrooms with square basins and slim fittings.
Milan has softer, rounded detailing. It suits bathrooms with round basins, curved mirrors and a warmer style.

Pick one collection for the whole bathroom so every piece shares the same profile.

Brushed Gold PVD or Matt Black?

Every piece comes in Brushed Gold PVD or Matt Black. PVD (physical vapour deposition) is a coating process that is generally harder-wearing than conventional plating, which matters in a room full of steam and water. Choose Brushed Gold to match brass taps or brass door hardware, or Matt Black for a sharper, graphic look with black fittings.

Before you drill

Ask your plumber where the concealed water lines run, and keep clear of them.
Use a tile drill bit and the wall plugs supplied, and drill slowly to avoid cracking the tile.
Fix one piece, check it is level, then mark the rest from it.
